Smart Notebook Issues

Check the Connections:

  • USB Connection: Verify that the USB cord is securely connected to the SMART Board. The connection can be either at the bottom right or bottom center of the board.
  • Cable Tightness: Ensure that all cables are tight along their entire length. Check especially for any USB extenders connected to the USB cable at both the smartboard and desktop.

Verify Connection on the Computer:

  • Check for the Blue Square Icon:
    • Look at the bottom right of your computer screen and click the up arrow to see all hidden icons.
    • You’re looking for a blue square icon.
    • If the blue square is present and there is no “X” on it, your SMART Board should be ready to use.

  • If there is an “X” on the blue square, the board is not connected properly.

If the Blue Square Icon is Missing:

  • Access the SMART System Menu:
    • Click on the search button (bottom center of your computer).
  • Search for “SMART System Menu.”
  • Select it.
  • After a few moments, the blue square icon should appear in the bottom right, and it should not have an “X” on it.

If the problem persists. Restart your Desktop

If the Issue Persists:
