Audio Issues

Audio coming out of desktop and not Surround

Try removing the audio cord from your desktop and re-inserting it.

Unplug the Audio Cord: When you unplug the audio cord from the desktop, you should hear a noise.

Check for a Hum: If you don’t hear anything, try holding the metal end of the audio cord. It should produce a hum.

Verify System Settings:

  • Make sure the FM/Front Row system is turned on.
  • Ensure the FM’s computer’s volume dial is set to at least 50%.

Check for Multiple Cords:

  • Look for a second audio cord around the desktop. It’s possible the wrong one was plugged in.
  • Find the cord that hums and plug it back into the desktop.

Select the Correct Audio Port:

If the desktop has two audio ports, plug the cord into the port labeled with a headphones symbol, not the one with both a headphones and microphone symbol.

If it still doesn’t work check the following settings

Click the speaker icon on the bottom right of your screen.

Verify the speaker bar is at 100% ( where the black arrow shows ) and click the button to the right of the bar circled in red.

Make sure Headphones or similar is selected. It may be labeled line in. You can give each of these options and try and see if it works.

If none of these work try removing and re-inserting multiple times.
